22 weeks

How our baby's growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, our baby girl is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

If I could see inside my womb, I'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

I am feeling her "not so little" kicks constantly throughout the day. It is so awesome, and I can't believe how much she moves around in there!  I feel like she is moving so much more than Levi did in my belly... maybe I'm just more aware 2nd time around. Either way, it's the coolest feeling.

I'm also so excited to find out what our little girl's face is going to look like! Wish we could get some more 3-D ultrasounds since we got rushed having Levi with us last time. Of course, I know she will be the most beautiful thing ever! Now the tough part... to pick the perfect beautiful name to go with her perfect beautiful face!
